Young/Young Adult & Teens Our Young/Young Adult and Teens ministry provides opportunities for our youth to grow in their walk with God. We exist to show Christ to others, serve those around us, follow Christ and praise God in our daily walk in life.  We actively engage teens in discussions that lead them to a greater understanding of God and their faith through Sunday morning classes, and our monthly events.  You are invited to send you family to any of our activities and take a look at what is going on with our Youth Ministry.
Jail/Prison I was in prison and you came to me ... Truly, I say to you, to the extent that you did it unto one of these...of mine, even the least of them, you did unto me." "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."
(Matthew 25:36, 40; John 12:26)

The vision of the Jail/Prison Ministry is to:

  • To go to the incarcerated
  • To tell the good news of Jesus Christ
  • To bring life and hope through faith in Him
  • To minister through prayer and fellowship
  • To love unconditionally with the love of God
  • To lead  in praise and worship
Ladies Ministry The ladies of our church are a key part of our church ministry.  Our mission is to provide women of the Gray Road congregation opportunity to meet for regular bible study and discuss topics relative to spiritual growth.  Periodic outreach activities will be planned to serve the sick, shut-in and those in need in our community.   We strive to support each other in spiritual and daily situations.  Please check the Church calendar for dates we gather so you can make a point to join us.
Senior Ministry The mission of the Senior's/Bridge-Gappers Ministry is to create an environment that teaches, encourages, supports, and respects one another in Christian love, and to honor and cherish our seniors because of the lives they've led, the wisdom they hold, and the examples they have set.  Our goal is to build strong, collaborative relationships that will enable us to grow and develop our ministry, our outreach, our education, our fellowship and our spirituality.

Principles of Manhood

On June 10, 2006 about ninety men and boys ranging in age from 10 years to 70 years met in the first of what has beocome an on-going effort to look at issues of manhood.  The workshop, entitled Principles of Manhood, was conceived to address the concerns that men and boys need to know the principles outlined in the Scripture of what it both means and takes to be a man pleasing to God. The workshop’s goal was to create scenarios or discussion points that allowed the men and boys at the workshop to speak out at ease with their opinions and positions.

The workshops format consist of large group sessions where issues of being a man in today’s society are outlined and small group sessions where participants are able to discuss in detail topics relevant to manhood.

History
Pathfinders was started in December, 2003. The repeated request from members of the Gray Rd. congregation was endless. There were other sober support groups that were in place at the Beecher St. congregation that proved to be successful.  There was also a significant number of precious souls baptized into the body of Christ that fell away, not able to get the needed support concerning their sin issues. As a result Pathfinders was started with the support of church leadership and coordinated efforts of the jail/prison ministry team leader, Bro. Roy Johnson. Support and encouragement also came from Bro. Reginald Head.

Mission Statement:
Pathfinders is a Christian based support group that meets weekly in order to assist those individuals who struggle with issues concerning the use of drugs, alcohol, gambling, pornography, criminality and any other addictive behaviors.  This support group will teach from the bible those things that address the above mentioned issues so each individual may return to the path of Salvation.

Goal Statement
It is the goal of Pathfinders sober support group to be reliable accessible to those in need of this support. It is also the intent to provide a practical application of scripture to these issues of sin so there is a true message of hope available to those currently involved in an addictive lifestyle. But this requires effort and accountability.  The scripture we use as our foundational text is Matt.7:7-8. We chose this scripture so  each participant knows there is a need for personal investment in their recovery.

Pathfinders
Activities for 2009: Regional Workshop in Indianapolis, Indiana at which several churches of Christ came together to provide educational sessions, increased awareness and continued support to those e in the body of Christ and those in that community.  Our weekly meeting are on going.  Our support to & from the Jail/Prison ministry where a large number of referrals are made.       Some limited printed information has been provided to those in need of encouragement.

Finally, this ministry is set to grow in a tremendous way in the very near future and has developed an effective network through out the Brotherhood.
